Call for Volunteers

Putting together this tournament and expo is a huge job. The more people that help, the easier it'll be for everybody. Currently we are looking for help in the following areas:

  • Before the tournament
    • Painting lines
    • Putting up caution tape
  • Each day
    • P.A. setup
    • Pavilions, tables, and chairs setup
    • Nightly cleanup (actually, late-afternoon cleanup)
    • Helping Pat set up the boom manufacturing/demo area
  • After the tournament
    • Final cleanup

We can discuss volunteering in the Forums

Some background from a posting to the USBA Yahoo! group:

Well, I know most everyone is thinking about the WBC right now but I have some good news as relates to the 2008 Nationals. I've got the hotel set and there are some nice things to let you know in that regard. I negotiated a rate of $79/night at the Marriott Courtyard of Mesquite. That rate is comparable to what we've paid the last couple of years. The hotel has a nice clean feel. Also, for $89/night, a full line hot breakfast is included and that's for two people (normal breakfast charge is $6.95). Plus, there is no additional person charge for sharing a room and the breakfast is for both occupants. There's an indoor pool and sauna. The hotel is literally only one mile from the field. The hotel is directly adjacent to an entire restaurant row. 100 yrds out the back door is a Pasado's (Mexican), then ten more restaurants back to back, including Outback, Olive Garden, Steak and Ale, Friday's, Razoo's, etc. There's also an arcade 50 yrds away. The hotel is interested in becoming a sponsor and appears in that regard that they'll comp us the room for our meeting and perhaps more. There will be a link to a personalized web site for us to book on within about 7 days. The rooms will be held through Sept. 19, 2008 so you'll want to make reservations before then to recieve this rate and be assured a room. I currently have 30 rooms held for Thur. through Sun. with 10 for Wed. night for anyone coming in for LD.
